A poster presented at Oil Conference Devex 2016 in Aberdeen sheds light on North Sea Platform Decommissioning as we've not seen connected before. Around the theme "should decommissioning be postponed as Wood Review, oil companies and government suggest, or not?" Erik Dalhuijsen, a highly experienced Petroleum Engineer with a wide world view, highlights a range of risks clearly visible to those who look, yet ignored by large oil operators.

Incontrovertible evidence illustrates that the industry and government are embarked on a high risk strategy, doomed for costly failure, unless a serious start is made with decommissioning and a strategic approach is embarked upon.
