Make Assets Available - progress to date:
Connect owners of assets with those needing them, in a way that stimulates community wellbeing and finances. Pursuing several avenues, none yet final. Writing proposal for improved use of government land asset and experimental farm. Pursuing use of unused visitor centre/demonstration farm, conference centre, teaching centre, experimental and now abandoned organic pork farm with waste management. Started preliminary discussions about frameworks for pooling unused farm land owned by people here, for the benefit of young startups. Older generation landowners often do not want to generate income from their land in order not to risk their state pension. A form of “land-bank”might help, given the right framework. A core feature is growth of community control within long term ecological strategies and framework.
